Doctor por la Universidad de Granada, he trabajado en el Instituto Konrad Lorenz de Etología (Viena, Austria), la Estación Experimental de Zonas Áridas (CSIC, Almería) y el Dartmouth College (EE.UU.). Desde 2011 soy profesor en el Departamento de Zoología de la Universidad de Granada. He dirigido seis tesis doctorales y varios proyectos de investigación. Mi trabajo combina el estudio de aves, reptiles, anfibios e invertebrados para abordar cuestiones generales sobre ecología evolutiva, con más de 100 artículos publicados en revistas internacionales y varios libros al respecto.
PhD in Biology from the University of Granada. I have worked at the Konrad Lorenz Institute of Ethology (Vienna, Austria), the Estación Experimental de Zonas Áridas (CSIC, Almería, Spain), and Dartmouth College (USA). Since 2011, I have been a faculty member in the Department of Zoology at the University of Granada. I have supervised six PhD theses and led several research projects. My work combines the study of birds, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates to address broad questions in evolutionary ecology, with over 100 papers published in international journals and several books on the subject.
