Licenciado en Ciencias Biológicas por la UGR en 1993. Doctor por la UGR en 2004. Desde 1991 a 2003 pertenecí al grupo de investigación “Comportamiento y Ecología Animal” del Departamento de Biología animal de la UGR. Desde 2004 al 2010 pertenecí al grupo de investigación “Coevolución animal” del Departamento de Ecología Evolutiva y Funcional de la Estación Experimental de Zonas Áridas (CSIC) y, desde 2010 hasta la actualidad pertenezco al grupo de investigación “Comportamiento y Ecología animal” de la UGR. Tengo 77 trabajos publicados, de los cuales 68 son artículos en revistas SCI. Tengo un total de 44 comunicaciones a Congresos, 39 de los cuales son en Congresos Internacionales. Obtuve 9 Becas de Investigación, durante mi etapa predoctoral. Posteriormente, en mi etapa Postdoctoral, he sido beneficiado con diversos contratos del CSIC, destacando un contrato para la incorporación de doctores al sistema español de Ciencia y Tecnología (I3P-doctores). Posteriormente me he incorporado a la UGR, donde he disfrutado de tres contratos de investigación. He participado en 17 proyectos de investigación y actúo como revisor para distintas revistas científicas. En 2018 comienza mi etapa docente Profesor Sustituto Interino primero y como Profesor Ayudante Doctor y, finalmente como Profesor Titular, puesto que ocupo en la actualidad.

 

Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Granada in 1993. Doctorate from the UGR in 2004. From 1991 to 2003, I was a member of the ‘Animal Behaviour and Ecology’ research group in the Department of Animal Biology at the UGR. From 2004 to 2010, I belonged to the ‘Animal Coevolution’ research group in the Department of Evolutionary and Functional Ecology at the Arid Zones Experimental Station (CSIC) and, from 2010 to the present, I have belonged to the ‘Animal Behaviour and Ecology’ research group at the UGR. I have published 77 papers, 68 of which are articles in SCI journals. I have given a total of 44 presentations at conferences, 39 of which were at international conferences. I obtained nine research grants during my pre-doctoral studies. Subsequently, during my postdoctoral studies, I have benefited from various CSIC contracts, notably a contract for the incorporation of doctors into the Spanish Science and Technology system (I3P-doctores). I then joined the UGR, where I have enjoyed three research contracts. I have participated in 17 research projects and act as a reviewer for various scientific journals. In 2018, I began my teaching career, first as an interim substitute professor, then as an assistant professor, and finally as a full professor, a position I currently hold.
